Build your own Lego City Penguin Slushy Bar

It’s been a good year for the driver of the Lego City Penguin Slushy Van because he’s made enough money to open a full slushy bar.

With a drive-thru, 8 different slushy flavours, a soda machine, iceberg chairs and some questionable penguin based abstract art, the residents of Lego City can have cool refreshing slushies whenever they want. Up on the roof, an employee is relaxing with free slushies.

Instructions for the MOC are available on my Rebrickable page: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-189730/GodspeedYouBrickEmperor/penguin-slushy-bar/ (782 pieces). It uses some pieces from the Lego City Penguin Slushy Van but doesn’t count as a modification.

My initial design idea was to use the trans-blue cylinders from the Slushy Van model as the windows and then I decided to make the door into a penguin. After building the front I turned the windows into brightly coloured slushies with straws.

The floor tiles are designed like ice flows, where the fixed structures are on the ice and the chairs become icebergs with the rock 2×1 plates as backs.

The Penguin head above the door went through a few iterations, but it was fun to put together using some nice SNOT techniques with headlights and brackets to make it more 3D.

While the model is not modular at the moment, it does use a lot of the modular style so I’m toying with ideas of how to move it onto a 32×32 baseplate and fit it into the modular world.
